A Catch Up Visit To The New London Village

I’ve started to explore SL a little again, so I went over to Kat Kassner and Laredo Lowtide’s fabulous New London Village this morning for a catch up.  I've always been inspired by Kat and Laredo’s amazing quality and detail they put into their building work in the London sim.  Kat and Laredo have made a few changes since my last visit;  The London Village looks even more awesome than it did before, and believe me it was fantastic then!  You can now do archery and sword fighting there, they have a special group you can join; there is a distinct feel of history about the sim now, some medieval features which fit nicely into the present day architecture; in fact, just like the real London Town.  I found a giant horn you can blow near the archery information spot, so I gave it a go! I quickly stopped when I realised this is probably so loud it would call all the people in the sim over. Luckily I was visiting very early in the morning when only a few early risers were there! The London Village seems to have more expanses of green fields than it used to have, and there's a hill which overlooks the London Village, just like Greenwich Park.  There’s a great tavern called The Guy Fawkes Inn near the Tower of London and Trafalgar square, moved to a new location, has a life-like Nelson’s Column with the Admiral Lord Nelson peering out over the capital landscape.  There’s always plenty going on in this brilliant sim, the Doctor Who theme adds to the magic of it all and the night-life is very popular.  The London Village is a favourite with so many people, you will never find it empty, the regulars and visitors feel at home there. It‘s all thanks to Kat and Laredo’s hard work at keeping The New London Village one of the most vibrant meeting places in SL.
